Clean Water

    Clean Water

Water is the greatest physical necessity on the planet. But, shockingly nearly 30% of the population of Uganda (roughly 10 million people) have no access to a clean water source. Most water sources are shared with livestock and filled with waste run-off and deadly bacteria.

Since 2014, Hope’s Cry has distributed over 800 lifetime-guaranteed water filters and has built two wells servicing hundreds of families. Additionally, we have trained thousands in proper water purification techniques and hygiene.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.– John 4:14

Pictured right is a common water source in Uganda. This one water source services hundreds of families and their livestock. These families must walk for miles to collect the water and bring it home.

By building wells and distributing water filtration systems, we can eliminate many of the harmful bacterial diseases caused by bad drinking water for entire villages.

The first year we distributed water filters to a remote village, we received a report months later that many of the people who received the filters had seen it as a sign from God and became Christians. They started a church of more than 50 new believers and were asking us to help them find a pastor!
