About Hope's Cry
In 2012, with a desire to begin ongoing mentor-mission work, Todd and Michelle Allen traveled to Uganda for the first time. Their hearts broke as they saw the incredible need and how few there were to meet it. They fell in love with the people of Uganda and felt God calling them to meet that need.
In 2013, they established Hope’s Cry International. Their ministry began with simply distributing humanitarian aid, (water filtration systems, seeds, clothing, etc…) and evangelism. However, the vision soon grew beyond anyone’s expectations.
HCI has now placed full-time missionaries on the field in Uganda to start new initiatives and continue the work that has been started. We are currently expanding into new regions as we continue to preach the Gospel in Africa. Our next ministry goal is to establish a ministry presence among the unreached Karamajong people, of whom less than 5% are born again believers.
We have also pioneered the Straightway Program, in an effort to keep young girls in school and reduce their risk of being victimized by human traffickers. This incredible program has already been hugely successful and we are expanding into more areas soon.
