About Hope's Cry
In 2012, with a desire to begin ongoing mentor-mission work, Todd and Michelle Allen traveled to Uganda for the first time. Their hearts broke as they saw the incredible need and how few there were to meet it. They fell in love with the people of Uganda and felt God calling them to meet that need.
In 2013, they established Hope’s Cry International to begin working in the Teso region of Uganda, near the town of Soroti. Their ministry began with simply distributing humanitarian aid, (water filtration systems, seeds, clothing, etc…) and evangelism. However, the vision soon grew beyond anyone’s expectations.
In the summer of 2014, Hope’s Cry led a team into Uganda to break ground on an orphanage building. That orphanage, Hope Children’s Village, was opened in December of 2014 and the first 12 children were moved in!
HCI now has placed full-time missionaries on the field in Uganda to start new initiatives and continue the work that has been started. A clinic has been built on the adjacent property to Hope Children’s Village and provides medical care for the orphanage and the surrounding community. In the near future, Hope’s Cry plans to build a private school, a surgery suite and a guesthouse. Find out how you can help with these amazing projects here.
